The X Factor UK is looking for its next pop superstar. The series that discovered One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs, Leona Lewis and Ella Henderson will search for their next star tonight, Sunday, Aug. 31, at 8 p.m.

The X Factor UK, which is in its 11th season, launched the careers of international pop stars. The show is being produced by AXS TV. This is the first time the legendary star-making series The X Factor UK has done a night in the United States

The X Factor UK was created by American Idol creator Simon Cowell and co-produced by Syco Entertainment and Thames. A fresh crop of talent is already poised to make their mark.

For the last ten years, The X Factor UK set the benchmark for greatness amongst its primetime rivals. It discovered international superstars and changed the landscape of modern pop music. Globally, The X Factor has launched more international breakout stars than any other TV singing competition show.

The X Factor UK's roster of chart-toppers includes winners and runners-up like biggest selling artists One Direction, who have sold over 45 million records globally and had nine No. 1 hits. X Factor discovery Little Mix made history when they became the first group to win the competition in season eight. The band broke records when their debut album reached the fourth spot on the US Billboard Top 200, knocking off Spice Girls. It earned the highest-charting debut of all-time by a British girl group.

The newest international The X Factor UK breakout is 2011 finalist Ella Henderson who released her debut single, the platinum selling "Ghost" in July 2014 and is currently the UK's fastest selling artist this year. X Factor UK discovery Leona Lewis and was the first X Factor UK international break out artist and season six runner-up. She sold more than 30 million records. Another highlight was platinum selling artist Olly Murs, whose 2010 self-titled debut had the biggest week one sales for a debut album that year and has gone on tour in the US with One Direction. The 2013 The X Factor UK winner Sam Bailey has 2014's fastest selling UK album to date.

Simon Cowell will return for the first time in four years for season 11. This year's judging panel features America's Got Talent favorite Mel B in her first appearance as a judge; pop princess Cheryl Fernandez-Versini; and legendary manager Louis Walsh.
