'Downton Abbey' Season 5 Trailer Released; Mary To Find New Love In Latest Season?

The "Downton Abbey" season 5 trailer has been released and judging by the preview, it appears that many twists are abound, including Lady Mary being ready to love again.

After creating a buzz on the Internet for a period-inappropriate prop in one of their promotional photos, the series makes noise again with "Downton Abbey's" season 5 trailer, showing a piece of some of the earlier speculations made about the latest season's plot.

The "Downton Abbey" season 5 trailer confirms some of the speculations revealed earlier, the budding affection of Lady Mary Crawley, played by Michelle Dockery, to Lord Gillingham, portrayed by Tom Cullen.

Butler Carson, played by Jim Carter, utters a line in the 1-minute trailer that sets the mood for the rest of the season. "I feel a shaking of the ground I stand on," says Carson, suggesting the many changes that will happen in the latest installment of the series.

"'Downton' is catching up with the times that we live in," says Mrs. Hughes on the trailer, and the sneak peek suggests a lot of catching up with the twists of the series' new installment.

The trailer suggests a new love interest for Tom Branson, played by Allen Leech; as well as a secret connection between the Countess of Grantham, played by Elizabeth McGovern, with a new character on the show Simon Bricker, played by Richard E. Grant. Jimmy the footman, played by Ed Speleers, is also shown in bed with a mystery woman.

One of the many things to note in the sneak peek is the question posed by Earl of Grantham, played by Hugh Bonneville, saying: "Our grandchild is about to be stolen from us forever." Who the grandchild is and what will happen will be revealed when "Downton Abbey" season 5 begins on January 5, 2015 for U.S. viewers and on September 21 for fans living in the U.K.
