New Nintendo 3DS Announced; Modern Version Of The Handheld Gaming Device To Come With Two Analog Sticks

The new Nintendo 3DS has been unveiled and the release date has been set to October 11 in Japan. With the upgrade, consumers can reportedly expect the new version of the popular gaming device to have an additional analog stick and some internal improvements.

According to TechCrunch, the new Nintendo 3DS sports changes you can easily spot, like how the face buttons resemble the classic Super Nintendo consoles. The back of the new 3DS also sports two extra buttons which provide more control for gamers.

The new Nintendo 3DS also claims to "have a faster processor and more RAM." Taking the processor one notch higher, the device will reportedly have faster internet speed and will be able to play games that are not playable in the current version.

Plus, the device also gets crisper graphics and screen and camera upgrades, and built-in support for other Nintendo devices like the upcoming Amiibo interactive figures. All of these appear to target hardcore gamers.

Those who will purchase the new version of the new Nintendo 3DS can also expect it to have longer battery life and Micro SD card support.

The upgraded version of the 3DS will reportedly come in two sizes, one which is close to the size of the existing 3DS and one that is around the same size as the 3DS XL.

In an interview with Edge magazine, Nintendo's game designer Shigeru Miyamoto reportedly said that the company wants to focus on consumers who are serious about gaming, thus the 3DS upgrade.

"Their attitude is, 'okay, I am the customer. You are supposed to entertain me," Miyamoto reportedly said. "It's kind of a passive attitude theyr're taking, and to me it's kind of a pathetic thing. They do not know how interesting it is if you move one step further and try to challenge yourself [with more advanced games]."

The new Nintendo 3DS will not be available in the United States this year but will be up for grabs in the Japanese market on October.
