Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor GameplayTrailer, New Story Trailer, Release Date, And Season Pass DLC Info Including Pricing: Preview Innovative Nemesis System [VIDEO]

"Shadow of Mordor" is coming, and has just released a new story trailer. You can watch the trailer at the bottom of the article. The release date will be September 30.

The "Shadow of Mordor" season pass will cost 20 dollars and include "The Bright Lord" where you play as Celebrimbor, the origonal forger of the rings of power. It will also include the "Lord of the Hunt" mission, where, you guessed it, you hunt beasts in order to collect unique runes, discover hidden areas and fight more powerful creatures. Exclusive to season pass holders is the "Guardians of the Flamint Eye" where players fight  Sauron's top soldiers for a Rising Flame rune. The season pass also grants early access to the "Trials of War" challenge pack, which pits players against hordes of Sauron's minions to test their skills.

Rather than trying to follow the books or even the film series, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor tries a different tack and places its events between the events of "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of The Rings"

You play as Talion, a ranger of Gondor who dies when Sauron returns to Mordor, but returns from the dead bound to a ring wraith. As he heads into the heart of Mordor to try and get revengeghostly flashbacks reveal the Wraith's past to him fleshing out some of the back story to the LOTR franchise (stuff you would only know if you read the Silmarilion)

"In celebration of PAX, we are unveiling a new story trailer introducing Ratbag, one of the many Uruks in Sauron's army, and one whose ambition far outweighs his skill," said Monolith Community Manager, Andy Salisbury. "But, in that desperation for the rank of Warchief, you'll find an ally that just might be able to help you."

There is also the Nemesis system, that allows you to tailor your enemies, have them turn and be your friend, exploit their weaknesses, or have them turn on each other. Most of the game's Uruks and missions will be created on the fly, meaning that each player will enjoy a different experience, taking on enemies with different strengths and weaknesses and tackling different goals.

Check back for more information on "Shadow of Mordor" as we get closer to the release date on September 30. In the meantime check out this story trailer and gameplay trailer.
