Moto 360 Release Date, Specs, Price Accidentally Leaked By Best Buy: New Smartwatch Will Be Revealed At Motorola Press Event September 4 In Chicago [VIDEO]

The Moto 360 release date is coming soon. Motorola plans to unveil the highly anticipated new smartwatch at theMoto Launch Experience on September 4 in Chicago. In other news Best Buy accidentally revealed the price and specs of the the Moto 360 eariler this week.   

Until now, details on Motorola's Moto 360 smartwatch have been mostly speculative and unconfirmed. It will be the first circular smartwatch, with a more fashionable appearance than its contemporaries. It also comes with a leather and metal wristbands. 

The leaked price from Best Buy confirms earlier reports that the smartwatch will cost 249 dollars. For comparison the Samsung Gear Live is only $200, while the LG G Watch costs $229.

Based on the Best Buy listing, the device will have a 1.5-inch backlit LCD touchscreen. The display resolution is 320 by 290 with 205 pixels per inch.The new smartwatch is waterproof for 30 minutes up to three feet deep, as well as Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Best Buyconfirmed that it accidentally leaked specs and price details of the unreleased Moto 360 smartwatch.The company removed the page on August 18 a day after the Moto 360 price and specs were divulged to the public.

According to the Verge, Motorola teamed up with Yo to hand out Moto 360s to the first 20 people who took part in a contest. This went completely wrong. In Yo's notices, it sounded as if the people receiving them had already won the smartwatch, which led to angry complaints on Motorola's Google+ page.

Yo told the Verge that: "Yo is a communication platform.

"Anyone can use Yo to send out notifications with links and use it the way they see fit.

"We are not running campaigns for businesses but we welcome everyone, including businesses, to use our platform and leverage it to communicate with their friends, family, customers or whoever they want."

Motorola has since apologized via a series of tweets, and announced a new contest.
