Cee Lo Green TV Show With TBS Cancelled; News About 'The Good Life' Getting Canned Surface After Singer Tweets About Rape

The TBS produced Cee Lo Green TV show called "The Good Life" was cancelled following the backlash the singer received from posting his thoughts about rape on Twitter.

While some reports say the Cee Lo Green TV show was cancelled as a result of his Twitter posts about rape, Variety claims that the show had already been canned earlier this year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Good Life," which highlighted Green's life as a performer, producer and recording artist as well as his reunion with his hip-hop group Goodie Mob, had already completed its first season, garnering an average viewership of 677,000. The decision to axe the show reportedly came from its poor ratings.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that TBS's announcement only came after women's rights group UltraViolet petitioned for them to put a lid on the show.

Cee Lo Green received flak from his numerous tweets about rape being considered as rape if the victim is conscious.

Some of the tweets fired by Green include statements like: "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! So WITH Implies consent."

"People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!," he continued.

The singer/producer deactivated his Twitter account on Monday after answering several users and receiving backlash for his comments about rape victims, but screenshots of his posts were saved and re-posted by users.

Cee Lo Green faced charges for drug felony for allegedly drugging a woman with ecstasy in an attempt to sexually assault her in 2012. The 33-year-old victim recounted the incident as waking up in bed beside Green with no recollection of what happened. On August 29, Green pleaded no contest to the charges and was sentenced to three years of probation and 45 days of community service, which he can complete through MusiCares Foundation.

The page for the Cee Lo Green TV show on TBS's website has been deleted and replaced by an error message, and the singer will not return on the latest season of singing contest "The Voice."
