Jennifer Lawrence Nude Photo Leak Updates: Lena Dunham Expresses Support, McKayla Maroney Takes Legal Action For Photos ‘Taken While Underaged’, Underground Nude Photo Trading Ring Responsible?

Recent updates since the massive nude photo leak on Monday have been mostly quiet for JLaw while others continue to stand up for the "Hunger Games" actress. After Emma Watson spoke out against people still circulating the photos, ‘Girls' creator and actress Lena Dunham recently expressed her support for Jennifer Lawrence and the women affected by the incident. In addition to this, Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney has recently taken legal action against porn sites circulating her photos because she was underaged when they were taken. Finally, a new theory of how the photos got out has surfaced and it's not good news for any hope to catch those responsible.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lena Dunham took to twitter today and expressed her thoughts on the recent nude photo leak. "The way in which you share your body must be a CHOICE. Support these women and do not look at these pictures," says Dunham. She also added that the leakers should be called sex offenders instead of hackers, because what they've done is commit a sex crime.

TMZ reported today that McKayla Maroney has taken legal action against some pornography websites for hosting her naked photos. They state that, "one of Maroney's attorneys fired off a letter to Porn.com ... informing the site that McKayla was underage in several of the photos. The letter demands the images of McKayla -- who turned 18 last December -- be taken down immediately." A representative from the website informed TMZ that they have complied with the request and all photos have been taken down.

That situation for the young Olympic medalist looks like a win against the culprits who leaked her photos, but based on fan tips to Deadspin, there may be an entire nude photo trading ring responsible for the massive leak. After the blogsite received a mysterious anonymous tip about the photo trade, they posted an article documenting the alleged correspondence with the original leaker. Now, their sister site Gawker theorizes that the large collection of photos may have been collected over the years through a nude photo trading ring.

Based on a post by an anonymous user in 4chan, Gawker reported that, "most signs point toward not a concerted effort but a loose gang of hackers working independently and trading to create the collection."

If the leak was indeed an effort of multiple hackers, the authorities may have their work cut out for them. Nevertheless, it's good to see that JLaw and the other women continue to garner other celebrity support.
