Nicolle Wallace, Rosie Perez To Join Rosie O'Donnell And Whoopi Goldberg On 'The View' [PHOTO]

ABC News has announced that Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace will be completing the panel on The View beside moderators Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell. After the departure of Barbara Walters, Jenny McCarthy, and Sherri Walters, the panel was in need of new and exciting women to take their places.

Now for some background information on the lovely ladies - in case you didn't know, they guest co-hosted the show last season. The Huffington Post reports that Perez is an actress and choreographer who has appeared in the movies "Do The Right Thing" and "Fearless," for which she was nominated for an Oscar in 1997. She has also appeared in the hit movies "White Men Can't Jump" and "Pineapple Express."

Wallace, on the other hand, is an author and MSNBC political analyst. According to NBC News, she served as a senior advisor for the 2008 McCain-Palin presidential campaign and was also communications chief for President George W. Bush's reelection campaign.

Perez said of the news, "I am beyond thrilled, honored, and completely surprised that I've been asked to join 'The View'... Knowing that I'll be in the company of Whoopi, Rosie, and Nicolle, three very smart and engaging women that I have an immense amount of respect for, makes it even more unbelievable. The opportunity to connect with our nation's audience on a daily basis... icing on the cake! Very happy." Executive producer Bill Wolff added, "These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences...This mix of smart, vibrant, and energetic women is unlike anything else on daytime television," highlighting the diversity of the panel and the variety of information they each bring.

The new season is set to air on September 15th, and will be "unlike anything in recent history."
