IFA 2014 Berlin Recap: Sony Xperia Z3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, HTC Desire 820, Nokia Lumia 830 Makes Appearance On Day 1 Of Tech Show

IFA 2014 Berlin recap: The latest handsets has arrived and the IFA 2014 tech show in Berlin showcased numerous devices from major smartphone makers on its first day.

In a recap by U.K.’s The Mirror, it noted that the event has so far seen the Sony Xperia Z3, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the HTC Desire 820, and Nokia Lumia 830 making their debut appearance. We give a brief description on each of these new handsets below.

Sony Xperia Z3

The latest flagship from Sony features showcases a 4.6-inch display, a 20.7MP camera and an astonishing 2-day battery life. The Xperia Z3’s manufacturers bills the handset as the “world’s best technology on a compact smartphone.”

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

The newest phablet by the South Korean tech giant has a 5.7” Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 500 pixels per inch. It has a fingerprint scanner and a fast charging battery.

HTC Desire 820

Features of the HTC Desire 820 include a 5.5-inch screen. It has a 13MP and 8MP camera and will be available in a bold range of colors. The Mirror noted that it will have a 64-bit processor that will be available once the Android L has been launched.

Nokia Lumia 830

Described as the “first affordable flagship,” the Nokia Lumia 830 has a 10MP camera sensor and comes with 15GB of OneDrive. It’s also describe as a handset that is comparable to other flagships but is a lot cheaper.

Numerous other devices and handsets have been unveiled in the event from major manufacturers and more are expected in the coming days.

The IFA is the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances in Europe’s largest economy. It has also been a place where major launches of the most highly anticipated handsets by key manufacturers are held.
