iPhone 6 Specs: Is Apple's New Smartphone The Right Match For Samsung's Galaxy Alpha And Galaxy Note 4?

Apple's rival has officially launched the two competitors to its upcoming iPhone. And with the information we know about the iPhone 6 specs, is it enough to beat the new Galaxy smartphones from Samsung?

Based on what we know through rumors and leaks, there would be two iPhone 6 smartphones this year, one with a 4.7-inch display and another with a bigger 5.5-inch screen.

The smaller one would certainly be up against the Galaxy Alpha which was announced a couple of weeks ago, while the 5.5-inch edition should be the rival of the Galaxy Note 4 which was launched yesterday.

According to recent reports, the iPhone 6 will pack a sapphire display, 64-bit A8 chip, the new iOS 8 version, a better and improved Touch ID home button, and a more rounded display.

The camera is said to retain its 8 megapixel resolution, but with better performance. In alleged leaked images of the device, the iPhone 6 will be the thinnest iPhone yet, and as a result, the camera lens appears to be protruding from the phone's back surface.

On the other hand, Samsung has really upped its game with the Galaxy Alpha and Note 4 which both comes with metal frames, the first in a Samsung smartphone. Both devices run on super powerful hardware - the Galaxy Alpha gets an Exynos chip while the Note 4 boasts the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

On the design department, the Galaxy Alpha gets a plastic casing, while the Galaxy Note 4 brings back the faux leather back cover.

As far as the rumored specs of the iPhone 6 are concerned, they are still pretty evenly matched with Samsung's newest high-end devices. Pricing will play a major role in determing which is the better smartphone between the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the Galaxy Alpha, and the Galaxy Note 4 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6.
