Justin Bieber And Cody Simpson To Release A Duets Album; Simpson Thankful To Bieber, Says 'He's Been A Good Mate Of Mine'

Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson are set to release a duets album and the latter is reportedly thankful for the Canadian pop star for helping him expose his music.

All gears are ready for the Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson collaboration, confirming the Australian pop star's posting of a video on his Instagram account playing the guitar with Bieber.

This also confirms Simpson's tweet in July, saying "hanging around the kitchen island playing my family a bunch of new music. @JustinBieber what we've created is incredible mate."

According to the Sydney Telegraph, Cody Simpson describes the album as "a smack bang duets [album]."

"Justin has been a good mate of mine for a while. It's just us writing," says Simpson. "He told me he felt like I'd figured myself out and have grown into what he knows I will be so he was like, 'I see you as that guitarist, singer, songwriter you've always wanted to be.' I play all the guitars on the album."

The untitled record has reportedly been in the works for a couple of months now.

"We've been doing a bunch of acoustic material," said Cody Simpson in an interview with Canada's Chronicle Herald. "[Bieber] called me up a couple of months back, and said, 'Mate, I see you've been getting really good at guitar!' So we got together that night, actually in L.A., and wrote some great riffs, and ended up writing a really amazing song together."

The first session snowballed into nights of jamming and songwriting as Simpson tells the Tribune, "We went in and ended up being in the studio till six in the morning. [We] came out with a song, went in the next night and then ended up writing like 12 songs in seven days, working all night."

Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson's duets album will be their second time to work together. Simpson went on the road and opened for Bieber's Believe tour in 2012 and 2013.
