New "Homeland" season 4 spoilers reveal a set premiere date, just as star Claire Danes talks about what to expect for the Showtime series in 2014. She teases that "Homeland" season 4 will be full of "espionage work" and "adventure" following the premiere date.

According to the official website sho.com, the "Homeland" season 4 premiere date has been confirmed for Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 9 PM EST. That's just 4 weeks away from today!

Meanwhile, at the Emmy Awards 2014, 35-year-old actress Claire Danes revealed some spoilers on what to expect for "Homeland" season 4.

"This is the first season is based in foreign territory," Danes told reporters. "We're seeing what espionage work is on the ground. It is full of adventure."

Showrunner Alex Gansa told TVGuide that "the show is about the private and public costs of keeping America safe. That's the overarching theme of the season."

In the trailer, Mandy Patinkin's Saul Berenson also gives away some spoiler clues when he says in the voiceover, "it hasn't been a 14-year war we've been waging, but a one-year war - waged 14 times."

As we previously reported, Claire Danes, Rupert Friend, Mandy Patinkin, Tracy Letts, Nazanin Boniadi and Laila Robins will star in "Homeland" season 4, which is mostly shot in South Africa, doubling as Pakistan and Afghanistan. The new season will have 12 episodes. Two back-to-back episodes will air on the premiere date of October 5.

As we previously reported, "House of Cards" actor Corey Stoll, who received a Golden Globe nomination for playing Peter Russo before he was killed off the Showtime series, will play Pakistan CIA chief in "Homeland" season 4.

"Stoll will guest-star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA chief of station in Pakistan and a rising star in the agency's firmament," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The number of episodes Stoll will appear in is not yet confirmed, CNN reports.
