iPhone 6 Specs: Here's What The New Apple Smartphone Will Look Like With Its Display On, Release Date Just Around The Corner

This week we saw probably the greatest threat to the new Apple iPhone 6 specs, and the Galaxy Note 4 certainly is equipped to trump the competition with its high-end features.

So what does the new iPhone 6 have to say about that?

Well, the Cupertino manufacturer is still keeping everything a secret as much as possible in order to keep the iPhone 6 fresh for its release date next week.

For the past weeks we have seen almost all kinds of alleged leaked images of the new iPhone 6, but none of them were switched on for the display to be seen.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, an alleged iPhone 6 prototype was fitted with a working 4.7-inch display and thus we see it powered for the first time.

In the image above, the iPhone 6 showcases its iOS lockscreen which is  a trademark of the mobile platform for the past years.

So what do we expect from Apple's next generation smartphone?

Recent reports and rumors claim that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 would get lower specs than the 5.5-inch edition, which means that it will be aimed directly at the Samsung Galaxy Alpha which was announced a couple of weeks back.

The device is rumored to pack an IPS LCD display with 960 x 1704 resolution, a dual-core A8 chip that has 64-bit compatibility, 2GB of RAM, and several storage options including one that goes as high as 128GB of built-in storage.

There is also the Touch ID fingerprint sensor home button that will reportedly become filled with more functions aside from merely locking and unlocking the device.

Meanwhile, the 5.5-inch edition is expected to arrive with a sapphire display, which is rumored to allow the device to become thinner in spite its taller frame. We wouldn't be surprised either if the new Apple smartphone will be water resistant.
