If you are looking for the latest Manny Pacquiao update, the 'People's Champ' was at the New York Stock Exchange this week to promote his fight with New York native Chris Algieri. 

But no matter how interesting the press and their promoters present the fight, most boxing fans and analysts would still be looking forward to the mega-bout between Pacman and the reigning pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Floyd Mayweather. 

According to a report by Daily Mail, Top Rank big boss Bob Arum is confident that the two elite fighters of this century will finally meet inside the ring next year. 

Before the mega-fight takes place, several parties should first agree. 

Pacquiao, which is under Top Rank Promotions, and Mayweather who is under Golden Boy Promotions should first strike a deal that will benefit both parties. Fortunately, Richard Schaeffer recently resigned from his position, which makes the fight 'doable' unlike in previous years. 

Another rivalry that needs to settle their differences and cooperate to bring this fight to the world is HBO versus Showtime. Because both networks would surely benefit from this mega-bout, a deal may be in place soon. 

"Both networks want this to happen. All signs seem to point to a first fight early next year," Arum said in an interview. 

In fact, Arum is confident that there will not be just one, but two Pacquiao-Mayweather fights for next year. While the first bout may take place during the second quarter, or around April or May, a sequel would surely be under way right away and whoever losses in the first bout would surely want to even the slates with a revenge. 

For now, both fighters should first take care of their own businesses. Pacquiao will have to beat  Algieri in their bout in November, while Mayweather should do a better job in defeating Marcos Maidana in his next bout.
