Upcoming Huawei Phones 2014: This Android Phablet Is One Of The Best We've Seen At The IFA Showcase In Berlin, Boasts 6" FHD Display, 3GB RAM, Octa-Core CPU, 13MP Shooter

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is certainly one of the best Android devices at the IFA, there are also runner-ups, including one of the upcoming Huawei phones for 2014.

Meet the Huawei Ascend Mate7, an Android phablet that shouts premium from all sides. However, you should not mistake this for an ambitious midranger that wants to get attention with its sleek design.

If you take a peek under this phone's hood, you will be more impressed with what it has to offer.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Chinese manufacturer unveiled it at the IFA event in Berlin earlier this week. And from what we see in its spec sheet, this Android phone is really built to last and compete with the best of them.

The Huawei Ascend Mate7 boasts a 6-inch display with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, an octa-core CPU, the company's homemade HiSilicon Kirin 925 chipset, 3GB of RAM and a 32GB built-in memory. There is also a 'lower' end version that 'only' comes with 2GB of RAM and a 16GB internal memory.

Behind the Huawei phablet is a 13MP primary camera while a 5MP shooter graces the front for selfies and video call functions.

The new Android device's design is simply breath-taking, especially the extremely thin side bezels in front. The top and bottom bezels are also at par, if not better than most flagships today.

The phone runs on Android 4.4 Kit Kat with Huawei's Emotion UI v.3.0 skin on top. It is powered by a huge 4,100mAh battery which should be enough to power the device for the entire day with moderate use.

Unfortunately, the Ascend Mate7 is priced a bit steeper than other Huawei handsets, and that is perfectly understandable given its outstanding specs. The new handset costs €499 for the 2GB/16GB version while it is priced at €599 for the 3GB/32GB combo.
