2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Eric Bledsoe Defended By LeBron James? The King Tells Phoenix To 'Break Bread' For 'Mini LeBron!'

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions are taking an interesting yet inevitable turn. LeBron James, close friend of Phoenix Suns restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe and fellow client of agent Rich Paul, is now actively making his case for his 'mini' version.

CBS Sports had the story on LeBron's curious statement:

"LeBron James and Eric Bledsoe are working out at the Cleveland Cavaliers practice facility, and the caption James posted to Instagram for the above photo illustrated how he feels about Bledsoe's free agency.

'Great work today lil bro @ebled2!!" James wrote. "Future All-Star in this league in no time. PHX break bread. #Klutch #Work #GymRats #StriveForGreatness.'

Yeah, that "PHX break bread" bit stands out.

Some background: James and Bledsoe are longtime friends, and they share an agent, Rich Paul. The #Klutch is for Klutch Spots Group, the player representation firm founded by Paul. Basically, James isn't the most impartial observer here. He wants his two friends to make a whole lot of money. We all want that for the people around us, right?"

To 'break bread' in slang means to share the wealth, and James seems to be implying that the Phoenix Suns are being unreasonably frugal in dealing with Eric Bledsoe. The Suns refuse to budge on their $ 48 million for 4 years seems reasonable for most observers. It's the same amount given to Ty Lawson and Kyle Lowry, point guards who are currently ranked higher than Bledsoe.

However, James' contention is that Eric Bledsoe could be better than both of them. Somewhere in the duration of that four year contract, Bledsoe could be an All-Star max player and there isn't much doubt about the athletic guard's potential. But the reality is that he has yet to play a full season due to injury.

LeBron is entitled to his opinion, but many will see his comment as intrusion more than suggestion. The Suns have all the leverage at this point and if Bledsoe and his agent wants to play hardball, they would have no choice but to take the qualifying offer like Greg Monroe did.

Do YOU think that Eric Bledsoe is a max player? Should Phoenix "break bread" with him?
