Ariana Grande Plays `Stand Up To Cancer’ Telethon for Her Grandfather; Ariana Grande Scores Two Number 1 Albums in One Year [VIDEO]

Ariana Grande paid tribute to her late "Gramps" at the "Stand Up to Cancer" telethon on Sept. 5. The pop singer and former co-star, along with Jennette McCurdy, on Nickelodeon's "Sam & Cat," is also setting records. Grande has scored two number one albums in one year this year.

At this year's Stand Up to Cancer telethon, Ariana Grande performed her song "My Everything" in honor of her late grandfather, who died after a lengthy battle with cancer in late July.  The money raised at Stand Up To Cancer supports cross-disciplinary research toward new cancer treatments.

Grande took to Twitter before the Sept. 5 event in Los Angeles to say "Supporting a cause that is near & dear to my heart. tonight I'm singing for grandps! i miss u,"

The special was broadcast on dozens of broadcast and cable networks.

In addition to Grande, Dave Matthews Band, the Who, Jennifer Hudson, Lupe Fiasco and Common also performed at the 2014 Stand Up to Cancer. Gwyneth Paltrow and Joel Gallen returned to produce the telecast for a second time.

Ariana Grande pulled her second No. 1 album on less than a year on Thursday. The popstar's new studio album, "My Everything", has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart.

Ariana Grande told her Twitter followers "No words!! thank you so much. so much love & appreciation. Kinda unbelievable & really does mean so much...thank you X a billion...love u. so grateful."

"My Everything" joins her previous album, "Yours Truly," which hit the top of the Billboard chart last September, selling 169,000 copies during its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Grande is third female artist of the SoundScan era, which began in 1991, to earned two No. 1 albums in under a year. The other artists are Susan Boyle and LeAnn Rimes.
