Homeland Season 4 Spoilers: Quinn ‘Concerned’ About Carrie’s Behavior In Premiere Episode, Is A Romance Budding?

New "Homeland" season 4 spoilers reveal Quinn's newfound concern for Carrie's behavior while working abroad. Does his interest in her well being suggest a budding romance?

According to TVLine, the "Homeland" season 4 premiere reveals Quinn's concern for Carrie.

Claire Danes told TVLine at the "Homeland" season 4 premiere screening, "Quinn is eager to get out of the [espionage] business and is recognizing behavior in Carrie that he himself has had in the past as an assassin, and he's concerned for her. So he trying to jar her into 'consciousness,' but she's reluctant to engage."

The publication also reports that the HBO series' season 4 premiere reveals "sparks of a kind are flying" between Quinn and Carrie, but "primarily because they find themselves on opposite sides of a budding conflict."

A budding conflict or a budding romance?

Showrunner Alex Gansa previously spoke of the growing relationship between Carrie and Quinn: "I think if there is romantic energy between them it's at a very nascent state," he said. "Carrie's emotions have been engaged elsewhere, so it's unclear how she feels about him. I think it's pretty clear how he feels about her. But whether Carrie Mathison is going to be emotionally available for a romantic entanglement is another question entirely."

As we previously reported, Claire Danes, Rupert Friend, Mandy Patinkin, Tracy Letts, Nazanin Boniadi and Laila Robins will star in "Homeland" season 4, which is mostly shot in South Africa, doubling as Pakistan and Afghanistan. The new season will have 12 episodes. Two back-to-back episodes will air on the premiere date of October 5 at 9 p.m. ET.
