Jeremy Lin News: Lin Entering Los Angeles Training Camp With A New Mindset

Jeremy Lin is definitely the feel good story of the Lakers this off-season, with the 25-year-old floor general aiming to bounce back from a disappointing stint with the Rockets.

After Lin's 'linsanity' play with the Knicks, Houston expected the same type of play. Unfortunately for the former Harvard standout, he never had the opportunity to adjust to becoming a second option on offense after James Harden was traded to the Rockets.

Lin tried to develop a consistent jump shot as a shooting guard, but failed miserably. And so by his second season with the Rockets, coach Kevin McHale decided to give him the sixth man role. Former backup guard Patrick Beverly became the starting point for Houston.

When Houston heard the news that LeBron James would be returning home to Cleveland, they were very quick with their decisions, and one of it includes sending Lin and a future first round pick to the Lakers just to have enough cap space to sign Chris Bosh.

Now that Lin is a part of the Lakers, he is motivated to start anew, at least for the next season. However, during his introduction to the team, he made it clear that he doesn't want to duplicate 'linsanity', or begin 'linsanity 2', but play his type of game that will help his team win.

Currently, the Lakers have only one guard that can become the starting point guard, but Steve Nash is already 40 years old and may not be worth the risk for the Lakers. That means Lin will most likely be the starting point guard for Los Angeles, and he should share ball handling chores with none other than Kobe Bryant.
