Google Nexus 8 Motorola Release Date: Nexus X Will Be Launched Alongside HTC-Made Nexus 9, Are They Enough To Beat The Competition?

The Google Nexus 8 Motorola release date is rumored to take place next month, specifically on or before October 9. In spite all of the available smartphones today, Android purists still prefer the cleaner and simpler interface of pure Android, and only the Nexus 8 will bring them the latest version right away, Android L.

According to previous reports, it was Motorola which was tapped to work on the project, probably even before it was sold to Lenovo earlier this year.

Recent reports and rumors point out that the Motorola Shamu which has been appearing in several leaked images and benchmarks, is actually the upcoming Nexus 8.

Another newer rumor claims that the Nexus 8 is also referred to as the Nexus X, particularly because it will look similar to Motorola's flagship smartphone, the Moto X.

So what do we know about the Nexus 8 so far?

According to rumors and alleged benchmark from AnTuTu, the device will feature a high-end specs which would sure leave tech geeks foaming in the mouth. The Nexus 6 or Nexus X will reportedly get a 5.2-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

Also on board will be a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.7GHz, and a 32GB built-in memory, probably with a microSD card slot.

The camera department is composed of a 13MP primary sensor at the back and a 2.1MP front cam.

Most important of all, the device will come with the latest Android L (probably Lollipop) out of the box, which promises to include a ton of new features which include home automation.

Like previous years, the Nexus 6 would probably be announced alongside the Nexus 9 from HTC.
