Molly Glynn died from a freak accident at the age of 46. The "Chicago Fire" actress was struck by a falling tree while biking.

According to the Associated Press, Molly Glynn died when a storm hit a tree causing it to fall. She was with her husband Joe Foust when the accident occured.

She was reportedly rushed to Evanston Hospital in Chicago immediately after the accident but Molly Glynn died the next day due to the injuries she sustained.

Foust announced the accident on his Facebook page on Friday, saying: "Friends, this is the darkest day of my life. Things will never be the same. Molly got hit by a falling tree while we were biking. At hospital now. Prognosis is grim."

When Glynn passed, Foust took to his Facebook account again to issue a statement, saying: "I couldn't save her. I couldn't save her. She's gone."

Apart from playing a doctor in "Chicago Fire," Glynn was also a distinguished theatre actress and it comes as no surprise that colleagues and friends grieve her passing.

David Rice, the executive director of First Folio Theatre, remembered Glynn in a statement, saying: "Molly was one of the most loving and generous people in the Chicago theatre scene. She was incredibly talented - incredibly versatile. She could handle both comedy and the deepest, darkest dramas."

"Molly was a marvelous actress and a completely warm hearted and generous human being," said Michael Halberstam, artistic director of Chicago's Writers Theatre. "She had grace, sophistication and a sparkling, sexy, sassy stage presence ... She was a loving mother and wife and everyone who met her fell in love with her."

Foust announced on Sunday that Glynn's organs have been donated. A Give Forward account has been made by Foust and Glynn's friends to help raise funds for medical and funeral expenses as well as for financial support for their children.

Molly Glynn is survived by her husband and two sons.
