Jessica Chastain Says ‘I’d Love To Do A Superhero Movie’, Fans Want ‘The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby’ Actress To Play The Rumored Role Of Ms. Marvel In ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’

Comic book fans and Hollywood alike might be swarming Jessica Chastain as she recently stated in an interview that she wants to be in a superhero movie. Chastain, who is currently on the festival route for "Miss Julie," has expressed her desire for a heavier female presence in action roles in the past. With this announcement coming amongst the swirling rumors of a Ms. Marvel cameo in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," fans have begun to emphatically request a Jessica Chastain as Captain Marvel casting.

In an exclusive interview with The Guardian, award winning actress Jessica Chastain admits that she wants to be in a superhero movie. "I would love to do a superhero movie!" is the statement that started the discussion. Moreover, The Guardian quotes the actress further: "The problem is, if I do a superhero movie, I don't want to be the girlfriend. I don't want to be the daughter. I want to wear a fucking cool costume with a scar on my face, with fight scenes. That's what I'd love."

And what do comic book fans think of Jessica Chastain in a superhero costume? According to some of the comments on Screenrant, the role of Ms. Marvel definitely belongs to the "Zero Dark Thirty" star. One fan commented, "Ms Marvel, no doubt. She'd be perfect as the female super." And even though some of the DC Comic fans mentioned Catwoman, it's clear that they all want to see her as a superhero seemingly just as much as she does.

While fans might want to see Chastain as Captain Marvel, it may not happen any time soon. In fact, it may not even happen for "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," which is rumored to include a cameo. According to Moviepilot, a recent tweet from Devin Faraci allegedly suggests that Marvel may not want to introduce the heroine cold and instead save her for her own film.

Here's hoping Hollywood and comic book producers have heard the news and the next actress suiting up for a superhero role will be Jessica Chastain. Until then, her fans can look forward to seeing the actress in a couple of different upcoming films, including Christopher Nolan's latest, "Interstellar."
