2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Ray Allen To Chicago Bulls? Another Contender Opens Its Doors For The NBA's Best Shooter! Where Will He Play If He Doesn't Hang His Sneakers?

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions main marquee player aside from the restricted free agents duo is Ray Allen. He has reiterated that he is not in a rush to make a decision, but the doors keep on opening for him.

After he declared that he wants to play for a contender, all the teams which feel they have a shot (and even those that didn't) had inquired about Allen. The Cleveland Cavaliers are the usual suspects since their MVP (and sometimes, GM and agent) LeBron James has been an effective recruiter.

But then there are the Clippers, who were one bad call shy of making the Western Conference last year. The main selling point for the Clips is that they have Doc Rivers calling the shots. Allen won his first ever NBA championship under Rivers with the Boston Celtics. Playing alongside Chris Paul and Blake Griffin is definitely a tempting prospect.

Also rumored to have called Allen is the Washington Wizards. Newly acquired forward Paul Pierce, his Big Three ally is recruiting Allen to mentor the young upstarts of the East.

All these teams have personal connections to Allen, but one team has the audacity to lure 'Jesus Shuttlesworth' on the basis of being a contender alone.

According to a report on Bulls.com, Chicago-who has been a thorn for Ray Allen when he was in Boston and Miami, has made a pitch for the shooter. Their argument:

"The Bulls are likely the only significant contender pursuing Allen who do not have a true starting shooting guard. What an ideal situation for Allen at this stage in his career.

Jimmy Butler likely will start the season at shooting guard. Butler's more natural position probably is small forward, which isn't exactly a strength for the Bulls, either. Not that it's a weakness, but possible starter Mike Dunleavy Jr. is better suited to come off the bench and Doug McDermott is a rookie. Likewise, with little playing time Tony Snell comes into the 2014-15 season more like a red shirt rookie."

The proposal is a long shot and we still have no clue on Allen's real motivations. He's not in a rush, so we have to wait.
