When premier big man Pau Gasol made the decision to move to Windy City, Chicago Bulls news and especially NBA fans were excited to get a talented forward/center who can pass and score. 

However, most of them did not expect Gasol to carry the Bulls, especially now that he is far removed from his dominant self during his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. 

But during this year's FIBA World Cup 2014 in Spain, the Spaniard frontman has been a monster in both ends of the floor, registering 20 points and 2.2 blocks a game, in less than 25 minutes of playing time. What's more impressive is  that Gasol is making shots at an incredibly high 64.4 percent. 

For the Chicago Bulls and coach Tom Thibodeau, this is certainly a good sign of things to come for their upcoming campaign for the 2014-15 NBA season. 

Even former MVP and superstar Derrick Rose, who will come back from a couple of knee injuries, has praised Gasol's consistent play and great offensive skillset, especially around the shaded lane. 

"Man, he's playing good right now. I think he's proving a lot of people wrong. His touch around the rim is crazy. He should be able to get eight to 10 points from me just driving and dishing him the ball", Rose said in an interview with Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson.

"He has a soft touch for a big and he knows the game. Left hand and right hand, I think that I'm going to get a lot more assists this year because of that."

Through his years in the NBA, Gasol has been considered as one of the best forward/centers, and that's not entirely due to his size. For a big guy, Gasol can spread the floor with midrange jumpers, and can work well whether he is in the post, or facing up his opponents. 

Now that he will not be the primary option of offense for the Bulls, Gasol will likely get the perfect amount of playing time to remain effective and keep him fresh for upcoming games at the same time.
