Following the success of "Pitch Perfect" star Anna Kendrick's performances, she will again star in a new musical entitled "The Last 5 Years." The film is an adaptation of the Broadway show which revolves around a couple who's been together for the past five years.

The blonde beauty will be giving life to the female lead role whereas "Smash" actor Jeremy Jordan will be her love interest. The narration of the film will be unique as it takes place in two different time lines and point of views - his and hers.

Kendrick's storytelling will begin at the end of their romance whereas Jordan will start his story at the very beginning. The lovers' stories will eventually meet halfway.

""From Tony award winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown, 'The Last 5 Years' is a musical deconstruction of a love affair and a marriage taking place over a five year period. Jamie Wellerstein(Jordan) is a young, talented up and coming Jewish novelist who falls in love with Cathy Hiatt (Kendrick), a Shiksa Goddess struggling actress," read a part of the film's synopsis.

"Pitch Perfect" star Anna Kendrick told Entertainment Weekly that the scenes felt like "vignettes." "The Last 5 Years" is her third musical which will be followed by "Pitch Perfect 2" and "Into the Woods."

When asked by the publications if she loves taking on musical-themed roles, she responded:

"I definitely did not expect to do more musicals. Particularly after 'Pitch Perfect,' it's not a choice that I would have consciously made. If anything, I wouldn't just do any musical. It happened that they were making two of the most incredible musicals with some of the most incredible roles. To do 'Last Five Years' and 'Into the Woods' is such a dream that obviously I wasn't about to be, like, 'Well, I don't really want to do another musical right now.'"
