RHOA Apollo Nida Goes To Jail September 10! [VIDEO] Real Housewives Of Atlanta Phaedra Parks Files Divorce As Husband Gets 8 Years In Prison For Fraud And Identity Theft

RHOA Apollo Nida Goes To Jail September 10! Tomorrow Apollo Nida will begin his 8 year jail term. On top of prison time, Apollo was just given a lien that he has to pay $1.9 million to the government and unfortunately Nida only had a net worth of $250,000!When Phaedra was a no show to her husband's trial, rumors starting flying that Parks wanted out. His attorney wife was too busy to make the biggest trial of his life, sending out the message that she's ready for a divorce, and the rumors were correct. And this is the perfect time for Phaedra to divorce Apollo. He currently owes $2 million from stealing peoples' identities and committing multiple acts of fraud.  A divorce would let Phaedra off the hook from those debts.

Apollo was sentenced to 8 years behind bars starting September 10 and to make matters worse his marriage is completely broken. It's been a rough few month for the Real Housewives of Atlanta stars.  What devoted wife skips their spouse's trial? Most likely, Phaedra didn't want to wait around for husband Apollo to get out of prison. Nida was asked during a radio interview if he thinks his marriage with Phaedra could make it through the storm. Apollo answered honestly, "I doubt it." Apollo added that he is still 'salty' that Phaedra didn't appear at his trial. But how angry can Apollo possibly be with Parks? Now the Real Housewives starlet will have to raise two small children by herself, without her husband or the father of her children.

The 8 year jail term is sad, but well deserved and even a little light considering Nida was facing 30 years in jail for Nida stealing the identities of more than 50 people and laundered more than $2.3 million. In addition, Nida allegedly opened bank accounts in those individuals' names, funneling stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into the accounts. Prosecutors say that Apollo, along with a few other criminals, also created fake documents and websites to secure them. Nida was previously convicted and sentenced to prison for racketeering and began serving his sentence July 28, 2004. He served nearly 5 years of his 18-year sentence before being paroled in May 2009. Apollo ALSO served close to 5 months from December 29, 1998 to May 14, 1999 for theft by receiving stolen goods.

His legal team said in a statement, "Mr. Nida's lengthy but early small-time criminal history is simply not in the same league as the 'violent offenders, drug kingpins and perpetrators of far more serious offenses' that Criminal History Category V was designed to address."
