iPhone 6 UK Release Date: Apple Flagship Avail. Across The Pond On Sept. 19; iOS 8 Powered Handset Starts At £539 For 16GB Variant

iPhone 6 UK release date: The Apple flagship that was unveiled Tuesday will be available in across the pond beginning September 19. The date is the same with the U.S. availability. Britain can also pre-order the units starting September 12.

According to PC Advisor U.K., the iPhone 6 will be available starting at £539 for its 16GB variant, £619 for the 64GB version, and £699 for the 128GB model. Three, Vodafone, O2 and EE are all expected to make the unit available. It will also be unsurprising if a line of people will be seen at Apple’s Regent Street branch when the iOS 8-powered handset is made available on the said date.

Specs of the iPhone 6 includes its new Retina HD display, seen in a 4.7-inch screen with a 1334 x 750 resolution or 328 ppi, 38 percent more pixels than the 5S, PC Advisor notes. In terms of built, the edges of the iPhone 6 are rounded and makes the unit look thinner than it actually is.

The iPhone 6’s camera has an 8MP and the same resolution as its predecessor but with more sophisticated features. These include Focus Pixels, which will allow the handset to have phase detection autofocus.

Under the hood the new flagship is powered with Apples A8 processor, which is 25 percent faster than the A7 (in the 5S) and sports a graphic chip that’s 50 percent faster. “To put that in context, it's 50 times as fast as the original iPhone,” notes PC Advisor. It’ also said to be more efficient when it comes to battery, enabling a longer battery life for the unit with the same battery capacity.

In the iPhone spec sheet, it shows that the iPhone 6 can have up to 11 hours of video playback, 50 hours of audio playback, and 10 hours of 4G LTE or 3G browsing. A new feature in the latest Apple flagship is VoLTE or voice over LTE, which offers better audio quality when doing voice calls through apps like Skype and Viber.

Touch ID is also a feature in the new iPhone 6, a carryover spec from the iPhone 5S. But it will soon have ApplePay, allowing users to use the iPhone 6 to pay for purchases.
