It seems strange that there are currently no critical reviews for "If Loving You Is Wrong" given that it was just announced to be the most watched series premiere in history. The latest TV series from Tyler Perry pulled in 1.93 million viewers last night for the OWN network, and while one recap is calling it the next ‘Desperate Housewives,' there is currently a lack of critical review for the premiere.

Yesterday Tyler Perry tweeted via his official twitter "I hope you're planning to watch my new show tonight, If Loving You Is Wrong. The 2 hour premiere is on @OWNTV at 9/8c."

According to TV By The Ratings, 1.93 million people listened to him. They report that, "The series premiere of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's second drama series from Tyler Perry, "If Loving You is Wrong," (September 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT) broke records delivering 1.93 million viewers making it the most watched series premiere in network history. The episode delivered a 1.47 rating in the key W25-54 demo up triple digits (+206%) vs. one year ago, and built every quarter hour among W25-54 climbing +13% over the course of the hour."

As for what happened in the two hour premiere of "If Loving You Is Wrong," Entertainment Weekly recapped all the apparent gossip, lies, and scandal. They even went on to compare the series opening to popular ABC series "Desperate Housewives." In short, "everything is wrong about the relationships in the show; that's why it had me glued."

With record breaking ratings and plenty of fan tweets praising the show, one might begin to wonder what TV critics of major arts blogs and news outlets thought. Unfortunately, it appears those people will have to continue wondering, as formal reviews for the series are scarce. In fact, it currently doesn't even have a Rotten Tomatoes page, which suggests that perhaps no one expected the show to make waves.

Whatever the reason for the silence from most TV critics, (was it so good that they couldn't finish a piece in time?) most fans are praising the show. If the ratings are any indication of enjoyment, one can be sure that "If Loving You Is Wrong," will continue to draw in viewers. The show airs Tuesdays at 9pm on OWN.
