Viz Media Reprints ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’: Yoshihiro Togashi’s ‘Hunter X Hunter’ Manga Still On Hiatus, Fans Fear Series Will Never Be Complete

Yoshihiro Togashi fans may get some comfort today as Viz Media announced plans to reprint his popular manga series "Yu Yu Hakusho" on digital platforms as well as brand new manga editions. But with the manga of his latest series "Hunter x Hunter" still on hiatus, and the anime drawing to a close, fans have begun to truly fear that they may never see the end of their beloved action series.

"What if Yoshihiro Togashi (writer of HxH) never finishes the manga?" asks Reddit user Rayz0r98.

This post began five months ago with the first announcement that "Hunter x Hunter" would be on a temporary hiatus. Then another hiatus was announced last month due to Togashi's recent run-in with a serious case of back pain. While there's plenty of uncertainty of whether the series will come to a planned end, at least Viz Media has reminded audiences of Togashi's brilliant career.

According to Crunchyroll, "Viz has put together plans for helping fans find a Yoshihiro Togashi fix now that the ‘Hunter x Hunter' anime is ending and the manga's serialization is being hit by hiatuses again. All 19 volumes of Togashi's earlier Shonen Jump hit Yu Yu Hakusho have been reprinted!"

They go on to explain that in addition to the colorful new books, the reprint will be available digitally on platforms including Viz Media's official site/app, iBookstore, Kindle, Nook and Google Play.

As for "Hunter x Hunter," there has been no official announcement as to when the manga series might pick back up again. In the aforementioned Reddit post, some fans have become content with the current "ending" while others theorize that since money is not an issue for Togashi, his passion for the series will keep it going.

Nevertheless, at least there's always the completed series of "Yu Yu Hakusho" to look back on.
