Jennifer Lopez Sleeps With ‘The Boy Next Door’ In New Film Trailer: January Release Date Suggests Won’t Be Enough To ‘Turn Around Her Acting Career’? [VIDEO]

Jennifer Lopez stars in a new trailer for "The Boy Next Door," and it's pretty SFW despite the subject matter of a teacher sleeping with her student. The film's release date is currently set for January 26, 2015, which given that there's usually a slow box office post Oscar cutoff, the studio doesn't expect the film to do much.

"Can't wait to miss it!" hilariously comments Rafkny on the New York Daily News' post of the new trailer for "The Boy Next Door" starring singer/actress Jennifer Lopez. As far as returns to the big screen go, it would appear Lopez is trying to get back to her "Enough" roots, as what starts out as a seemingly simple affair with the dangerously attractive Ryan Guzman, turns into a full blown stalker situation.

IMDB describes the film as follows: "Shortly after her divorce, a woman falls for handsome younger man who just moved in across the street, though their torrid affair that takes an obsessive, dangerous turn." In the trailer for "The Boy Next Door" it's pretty clear who Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Guzman are going to play, but some fans and critics are also predicting that the trailer is making it clear that film may not be worth seeking out in January.

According to Slash Film, "So no, ‘The Boy Next Door' probably won't be the film to turn around Lopez's acting career. And sadly, it seems Universal agrees - they've got this one scheduled in the dead slot of January 23, 2015." Perhaps it is more of a fun adventure back into acting for Lopez rather than anything expected to catapult her back onto Hollywood red carpets.

Nevertheless, audiences can decide for themselves by checking out the new trailer for "The Boy Next Door" below. If they're still not convinced after viewing, Universal still has plenty of time until January to change their minds.
