RHONY Ramona Singer demoted to recurring role on the Bravo reality show. This is quite a turn of events for RHONY considering Ramona Singer has been on the show since day 1 and was expected to be one of the only characters to be invited back next season. According to a Housewives insider, Bravo "is casting the show around Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman and Carole Radziwill. Ramona carried the show, that is why ratings plummeted, they think." Besides dropped ratings, Ramona was also paid close to $600,000 per RHONY season, an insanely high figure, which was another factor in her being demoted to recurring role. Aviva Drescher was also fired for Real Housewives of New York City, moving next season in a completely different direction. If Ramona SInger'sBFF Sonja Morgan is also demoted to recurring role or fired with Drescher, RHONY will never be the same again.

A recurring role is a common step down for the Real Housewives women that aren't bringing in the ratings and are getting too wrapped up in the drama. Like Ramona, last season Luanne DeLesseps was also demoted on Real Housewives of New York City to recurring role. The new position really seemed to work out for Luanne, whom came across as much more calm and collected this RHONY season. Being a full time Housewives cast member did not suit DeLesseps well, getting in too much trouble adn getting caught up in catty fights that teh Countess is above.  A 'reurring role' on Housewives means you get paid only when you film, and bonuses are given when your scenes actually air on the show. It puts a bit more pressure on a housewife who wants her scenes to make the cut. And Ramona Singer is great at bringing on the drama!  Other Real Housewives who have been demoted to recurring role include The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Kathy Wakile, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Camille Grammer, and The Real Housewives of Orange County's Jeana Keough.

If Singer will actually open up about her pending divorce and cheating scandal with Mario Singer, her scenes will undoubtably make it past the Bravo cutting room floor. So far Ramona has remained mum on the issues, but if we know Ramona Singer the way we have after 6 seasons, the bug eyed blond is sure to open up to be on TV.The RHONY stars ended their 22 year marriage for the first time, filing for divorce on Jan. 28th after Ramona reportedly caught Mario cheating on Ramona in their Hamptons home with a 27-yea-old woman. Ramona convinced the public that she was staying with Mario and working on her marriage, but when reports and photos confirmed Ramona Singer discovered her husband with the same girlfriend together again just last week, clearly Ramona had had enough. "I have decided to move on with my life without Mario. I tried my best to make my marriage work. I am excited for the new chapter in my life," Ramona Tweeted. But when Andy Cohen asked Ramona about the status of her relationship on teh RHONY reuinion, Ramona was tight lipped. "Everyone in my family is doing well," Ramona Singer sharply said, declining to comment further because of her daughter. "Mario and I are together ... Let's go to someone else. Thanks, Andy." This definitely contributed to her demotion.

What do you think of Ramona's demotion?
