To use the Viber for PC, the user should first register their phone number. Then the user will receive a code which activates the application on smartphone and PC. The application should install first on the user's smartphone, then to the PC. Automatically all contacts from the user's smartphone will transfer to the PC.

The Skype, like Viber is also a free app. However, the user will need Skype credit to call phone numbers and landlines since the Skype only offers a free call to other Skype users.

In terms of video quality call, Skype offers a great video and audio quality experience, since it faces several optimizations. Having a video quality call in Skype can achieve if the user has a good and excellence service of internet speed. On the other hand, the Viber desktop version comes with a poor video and audio quality, since it's still in beta version.

However, the Viber desktop version is a free service, but only for Viber users or subscribers, "the mobile charge carriers will charge calls that are made to non-Viber users."
