Canon EOS 7D Mark II Release Date Revealed; DSLR Boasts Of Nifty New Specs and Features

DSLR fans have long awaited the announcement of the Canon EOS 7D Mark II release date but can now pencil its coming in November 2014.

Along with the confirmation of the Canon EOS 7D Mark II release date are the unveiling of new features and specifications of the much awaited flagship DSLR from the multi-national Japanese company.

On a physical perspective, the camera will reportedly sport the standard magnesium alloy body.

The Mark II will be released after five years since the Canon 7D was launched and it will reportedly be packed with features that will entice photography professionals and enthusiasts, including a 20.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and a 65-poin cross-type focus system.

The camera will reportedly give fast shooting performance with its Dual Digic 6 processors and can churn out 10 frames per second when burst shooting. The shutter count is also reportedly high at 200,000 cycles.

According to Digital Camera World, the Mark II will also have a wider sensitivity range, with the ISO spanning from 100-16,000 and can go up to as high as 51,200.

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II will also reportedly have advanced video recording features such as full customization of the Movie Servo AF speed and tracking sensitivity. Videos can also be recorded in full HD quality of 1080p at 60fps and can be saved in MOV or MP4 format.

According to Product Reviews, the camera also features a "photos remaining" counter on its 3-inch, non-touchscreen, tilt-angle LCD.

Another nifty feature of the camera is its built-in GPS, enabling the user to geo-tag images and classify them easier.

The camera reportedly has two card slots and can accommodate SD/SDHC/SDXC cards and CompactFlash cards.

All these nifty new features can be availed at the price of approximately US$2,600 when it comes out in stores in November.

Apart form the Canon 7D Mark II release date, another bit of news to watch out for is the unveiling of the Canon PowerShot G7 X and the PowerShot SX60 HS.
