‘Glee’ Actress Lea Michele To Display Singing Skills In ‘Sons Of Anarchy’? Director Reveals What It’s Like To Work With Brunette Beauty

It was confirmed last July that "Glee" actress Lea Michele would have a guest appearance in "Sons of Anarchy" season 7. Known as Rachel Berry in "Glee," some fans cannot help but speculate whether she'll be lending her singing skills to the crime drama series.

Executive producer and director Paris Barclay said that the 28-year-old actress refused to sing in her episode appearance. Barclay said that he initially asked the "Cannonball" songstress to sing "a little something."

"But no, she wanted to stay in character, and I respect that," he told Vultire. Michele's character will be a truck stop waitress named Gertie who's also a single mother. She will be there for Gemma (Katey Sagal) in one of the difficult times of her life.

Barclay likewise thinks that Lea Michele's "Sons of Anarchy" appearance will allow viewers to perceive her as a versatile actress. He also recalled how Michele accepted the role.

"When Kurt Sutter wrote this role, he said, 'Do you think we could get Lea Michele to do it?' And I said, 'Well, hell, let's ask!' And we did and she read it and within 24 hours, she said, 'Fantastic, I'm in,'" he explained.

While some fans have also voiced out their disagreement for Michele's casting, Barclay said that the cast members loved her because of her professionalism.

"She only had to work one day, but she had to do six scenes, and she was awesome. The crew loved her. We finished early. She's so prepared," he said.

He also told E! News about their desire to have Michele continue her role for several episodes: "We're trying to find a way to bring her back. Her acting was completely naturalistic."

Lea Michele's "Sons of Anarchy" episode will air on October 14 which is entitled "Smoke 'Em if You Got 'Em."
