While fans still have one more week to wait for the season two premiere of "Sleepy Hollow," they might be satisfied to know that a new "Sleepy Hollow" comic is on it's way. It was announced today that the series will be adapted into a full comic book series, due out in October. They've already debuted two out of five prequels to gear up excitement for the series, one of which hints at more backstory for Jenny Mills' time in the psychiatric hospital.

"I sat in on the pilot for this wild new show called ‘Sleepy Hollow,' and my fangirl heart just fell in love -- with Abbie, with Ichabod, with the whole mad world. It was still ringing in my head by the time Grant Morrison's panel started, and those few hours were among my favorites at the entire con," says Marguerite Bennett in an interview with Comic Book Resources. The self-proclaimed fan-girl is set to write the new "Sleepy Hollow" comic book series alongside art by Jorge Coelho.

The A.V. Club reports, "BOOM! Studios has released two of five planned "prologues" to the series online, on the show's Facebook page and on BOOM!'s Tumblr. The short stories are all lead-ups to a full Sleepy Hollow comics series, which debuts October 15." They go on to point out that one of the prologues focuses on Jenny Mills, specifically featuring her time in the psychiatric hospital. Will this lead to a possible exploration of her time there before being broken out?

It's a possibility. In the full interview with Comic Book Resources, Bennett explains that certain elements in the show interested her more than the others, particularly the relationship between Abbie and Jennie, and how they attempt to redeem one another. It's quite possible that in the upcoming series, fans will get more insight into Jenny's perspective, as it would provide a vehicle for exploration of their estranged sisterhood.

Nevertheless, fans will have a few weeks to wait for the full comic book series release which is currently set for October 15th. Until then, they can check out the prequels on the official "Sleepy Hollow" Facebook. The season two premiere will air on September 22nd.
