Cat Stevens Tour Dates Announced; Rock Legend To Go Back On The Road After 35 Years, Release New Music After 5

Cat Stevens tour dates for six North American shows have been announced after 35 years of not being on the road. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member will also reportedly release a new record.

After converting to Islam, Cat Stevens tour dates have finally been set and will reportedly roll out on December 1 in Toronto.

In an interview, Stevens who has been spending most of his time in Dubai spoke about his North American tour, saying: "I've been a bit slow in coming around to the United States, but there were so many people asking me to do that, that I just felt an obligation."

Apart from the series of peformances he will be doing called "Peace Train ... Late Again," he also shared his reluctance to make a comeback in the music industry.

"That's something I ran away from a long time ago," Stevens said. "But that's not to say the music business is the same as making music. When I finally reconciled my questions about the issue - where it should be in my life - by that time; I had something to say, I wouldn't be writing songs if I didn't have to say."

Aside from going back on the road, Stevens, who is now Yusuf Islam, will also reportedly release a record called "Tell 'Em I'm Gone" slated on October 27.

Stevens also shared his hopes for his new record, saying: "I hope this record will help revive the spirit of freedom ... and rekindle some of the excitement of those amazing days, when every musical door seemed to point us a way out of our imprisonment."

The inducted member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame broke out into the music industry in the 1970s with hits including "Peace Train," "Morning Has Broken" and "Wild World."

Cat Stevens tour dates and cities include Boston, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
