'Avengers Age Of Ultron' Star Robert Downey Jr. Son, Indio In Jail? 'Iron Man' Star Blames Genes For Drug Abuse Problems

Two months following the arrest of "Avengers Age of Ultron" star Robert Downey Jr.'s son Indio for cocaine possession, he is now being charged with felony and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia as reported by TMZ.

While the family is reportedly in full support of the 20-year-old, he is once again facing a major problem in his life.

Downey Jr. released a statement to TMZ explaining his son's situation during the reported arrest on June saying:

"Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being."

He added, "We're grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."

It's no secret that "Avengers Age of Ultron" star had his fair share of drug problems before but, he was able to overcome it all and is now more than willing to help his son Indio, to be able to do the same.

According to TMZ, being a first-time drug offender, Indio is entitled to program called drug diversion.

"Avengers Age of Ultron" star Robert Downey Jr. was reportedly thankful to L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. for the intervention and that he believes that his son will be part of the "recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."

According to Daily Mail UK, Indio was treated for drug addiction at the famous Cliffside in Malibu, where a number of celebrities are known to have received treatment from drug addiction.

The report also claims that friends of the famous actor said that they are positive that Indio's treatment at Cliffside will be successful.

"Bob not only knows about Indio's struggles, he's tried everything, as all parents do, including kicking Indio out of the family home, followed by boundaries and tough love. None has worked," report from Daily Mail UK claims.
