‘American Idol’ Contestant Michael John’s Sudden Death A Cover-Up? Singer’s Best Friend Claims Wife Tried To Hide Real Cause Of Death

The sudden death of "American Idol" contestant Michael Johns from a blood clot in his ankle shocked the public. However, the deceased singer's best friend Torrey Gambill is now claiming that the reported cause of death was actually a cover-up by John's wife, Stacey Vuduris.

According to Gambill, the real cause was the "American Idol" singer's alcohol abuse.

TMZ reports that Vuduris filed legal documents, which state that Gambill has been trying to inform the public about the reason behind Michael Johns' death, which he identifies as the singer's trouble with alcohol. These documents also allegedly state that Gambill has been sending Vuduris threatening text messages in an effort to persuade her to change her statement regarding her husband's passing.

Vuduris reportedly told the media that an ankle injury that her husband had sustained led to a blood clot that ended his life at his Orange County apartment. Michael Johns was just 35-years-old at the time of his death.

According to TMZ, Gambill claims that Vuduris sent him a text message just after John's death regarding the alleged cover-up.

"I'd rather it be said he died at home if that's ok with u .. he would want that....I rather that then 'alcoholic' stuff ... his good friends would never say anything ... so I don't think that will come out.  At least blood clot sounds sudden," Vuduris purportedly wrote.

The publication also reports that California law enforcement revealed that Johns was engaged in heavy alcohol consumption at the time of his death.

So could the "American Idol" alum have had more of a hand in his death than previously believed?

Perhaps. With Gambill's allegations, it's likely that there will be more on this story to come.
