The popular show-'Saturday Night Live' was left in a lurch after long time announcer Don Pardo passed away this year in August leaving behind thousands of sad fans across the globe. Darrel Hammond, American actor, stand-up comedian and a versatile impressionist has agreed to fill in his place and will be seen joining the program as the announcer starting September 27^th.  Hammond has also been previously associated to the show for fourteen seasons during the year 1995 and 2009. He has also filled in for Don Prado on occasions when the announcer was down with laryngitis and other voice problems making him the obvious choice in this situation.

Lorne Michaels, the show's executive producer confirmed this update in a recently held interview with New York Times and USA today. Having been associated with the show, Hammond understands the program along with being familiar with his responsibilities to quite an extent and looks forward to starting. As the new season nears, Darrel has made it clear that he wouldn't be imitating Don Pardo any longer. Instead, he plans to honor the legacy left behind by the popular announcer in a more creative fashion that keeps the tradition of the show alive.

Announcing the comeback of Darrel Hammond is just one of the many major changes that the program has undergone prior to commencing the new season. According to details available, Michele Che will be replacing the Weekend Update's anchor Cecily Strong in the show. The management of 'Saturday Night Live' has also opted against renewing its contract with featured players-Noel Wells and John Milhiser and chosen to hire Pete Davidson instead. Other members who are no longer a part of the cast include Brooks Wheelan and Naseem Pedrad. The premier episode will also feature Ariana Grande as one of the musical guests.
