Bob Dylan Tribute Concert Slated; Rock Legend To Receive MusiCares Person Of The Year Award

A Bob Dylan tribute concert honoring the rock legend's contributions in world culture has been announced. Slated performers to give Bob Dylan tribute include Beck, Neil Young and the Black Keys.

The concert will celebrate Dylan's reception of MusiCares Person of the Year award.

The show will take place in Los Angeles on February 6, two days before the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

"In celebrating the 25th anniversary of our MusiCares Person of the Year tribute, it is most fitting that we are honoring Bob Dylan, whose body of creative work has contributed to America's culture, as well as that of the entire world, in genuinely deep and lasting ways," said MusiCares Foundation President Neil Portnow.

"Bob Dylan's songwriting ability is unmatched, and it will be an extraordinary evening to hear his work showcased by such a remarkable group of artists," added MusiCares Foundation Board chair Bill Silva.

Apart from the ones mentioned earlier, performances for the tribute will be made by the Black Keys, Norah Jones, John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, Eddie Vedder, Tom Jones, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jack White and Bonnie Raitt.

The Bob Dylan tribute will reportedly be musical directed by Grammy Award-winning producer Don Was.

In a Showbiz411 report earlier this month, MusiCares allegedly first asked the Rolling Stones to be recipients of the award but the band declined. The story has not been confirmed by both parties.

Dylan is slated to go on a fall tour in the US and will release "The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol.11" in November.

The MusiCares' Person of the Year award is given to artists who have made significant contributions in the music industry and society. Past recipients include Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Luciano Pavarotti and Elton John.

Proceeds from the tribute concert will be allotted for financial and medical support to musicians in need.
