Google Nexus 6 Release Date Set On October 15 Or 16 As The New Nexus Hardware To Be Revealed In Mid-October!

As per a report, Successor to the Nexus 5 contrary to rumors making rounds will be called Nexus X and not Nexus 6 and it will be unveiled by mid-October. It is also reported that alongside Google Nexus X, the new Nexus tablet which is believed to be manufactured by HTC will be unveiled too.

As reported by Android Authority, Nexus X smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet apace with "a new software initiative" (apparently Android L final release) will be launched on either October 15 or 16.

Android L will only be available officially from November 1, claimed the sources. Furthermore, the new Nexus hardware will be announced in mid-October.

The report also expressed uncertainty regarding shipping the Android L running Nexus X and Nexus 9 devices or even making the Android L update available to the existing Nexus line-up.

The above release dates are not yet confirmed by Google and are a part of rumors and leaks. Rumors continue to swirl around that Google apparently is planning to launch two Nexus smartphones rather than one 5.9-inch Nexus X.

If the devices are launched in mid-October, it will contradict the earlier leaks and rumors. The highly anticipated Motorola Shamu handset is rumored to launch as the Nexus 6 AKA Nexus X has been rumored to hit the market on October 31.

Anticipated specification of Google Nexus X include a 5.2-inch Quad-HD (1440x2560 pixels) display; a quad-core 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor (APQ8084); Adreno 420 GPU; and 3GB of RAM. The primary rear camera is speculated to be 13-megapixel, while there will be a 2.1-megapixel front camera also onboard.

There are more reports confirming that HTC is indeed the manufacturer of purported Google Nexus 9 tablet. The Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets, HTC's engineers were spotted flying to Google headquarters recently and are reported to be working on the new Nexus tablet.
