Without simultaneous releases, North American manga and anime fans as usually left to either wait in desperation or rely on fan subtitled projects. While there will always be the "lost in translation" problem, at least with a licensed version fans can be assured that a professional is responsible. Not to mention, there's the added incentive of supporting your favorite manga and anime artists by purchasing the product.

This week Anime News Network has published their list of upcoming North American manga and anime releases and it includes the "Attack on Titan" Part 2 DVDs and Blu-rays, the 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray of "Ghost in the Shell," and the latest "Soul Eater" manga volume.

According to a report from Rocket News 24, "Attack on Titan" creator Hajime Isayama stated that, "Personally, I think the manga will continue for three more years. I'd like to end things quickly, with a tight pace of story developments."

Fans probably had mixed feelings about that announcement since it means they'll get more "Attack on Titan" but probably have to wait months before they get answers to some of the more pressing questions (ex. What's in Eren Yaeger's basement that his father left for him to find?). North American fans will however be able to purchase the second half of the anime version of "Attack on Titan" on DVD and Blu-ray as of September 23rd.

"Psycho-Pass 2" fans itching for some cyberpunk anime while waiting for the October premiere should check out the 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray of "Ghost in the Shell." According to one reviewer on Amazon, the new Blu-ray gives a great HD version of the beloved animated film. It's available for purchase right now.
