Sarah Hyland, Matt Prokop restraining order: "Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland got a restraining rder against her ex-boyfriend, the actor Matt Prokop. Hyland alleges that Prokop made threats against her and her dog.

According to the court the documents, Hyland claims Prokop threatened to set fire one of her houses on fire. Hyland, 23, testified to a number of incidents of abuse including an allegation that Prokop, 24, pinned her against her car and choked her in May. Hyland alleged such abuse occurred throughout the relationship.

"[He] relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats," Hyland explained of her filing of restraining order to keep Matthew Prokop away.

Hyland says Prokop entered rehab facility in August. He was released on Sept. 21st. Hyland claims the director of the rehab facility contacted her to advise her to get a restraining order because of Prokop's mental state and attitude against her.

An L.A. judge granted Hyland a temporary restraining order against Prokop after the director of the rehab center. Prokop is now required to stay at least 100 yards away from Hyland and her dog at all times.

In a statement to The Huffington Post, Hyland's lawyer Lee A. Sherman of CTSC Law wrote "On Sept. 19, 2014, Ms. Hyland obtained a Domestic Violence Temporary Restraining Order against Matthew Prokop. The documents filed speak for themselves. Out of respect for the court, the process and all parties, I have advised Ms. Hyland not to comment on the matter. We request that you respect the parties' privacy during this time."

According to the documents, Hyland claimed that, during a May 2014 argument, Prokop alleged held her up against a car, choked her and yelled "c**t, c**t, c**t" at her.

TMZ reports that Sarah said in the documents that "His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life." Sarah added that she suffered injuries to her voice and had a "very sore throat following this event." The actress also said that she didn't report it to police because Prokop said he would never do it again.

Hyland and Prokop two met during an audition for "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" in 2008. The two actors costarred in the TV movie "Geek Charming" in 2011. In 2012, Prokop appeared with Hyland in one episode of "Modern Family."

Representatives for Prokop have made no comment.
