Lady Antebellum Talks New Album 2014; Opens Up About New Sound

Lady Antebellum's new album 2014 has been given a release date and the band spoke about its details and the new sound they're sporting.

Band member Charles Kelley shared what fans can expect about the Lady Antebellum new album 2014 called "747," which is due out on September 30.

In an interview with Billboard, Kelley explained that they worked with a new producer for the record, which may have contributed to their new sound.

"We wanted to sound a lot bigger and a little more in your face than records in the past," said Kelley. "We went out of our way to make sure that we found songs that had a lot more drive and energy to them."

Kelley also shared that some of the fans who were given a preview of the record gave positive feedback. "We've tested out some of the songs live, and you can tell they were thinking 'This is going to be a different record,' and you can see their excitement," he said.

The group reportedly decided that the name "747" would best suit the album. There is also a song that goes by the same name. In another interview with Billboard, Hillary Scott described the song as the "driving spirit ... that sums up our attitude right now."

"We are pushing ourselves as a band and as songwriters... taking ourselves out of our comfort zone and not taking ourselves too seriously. There's an urgency and an energy to it that we've never released before," added Scott.

Lady Antebellum's new album 2014, their fifth studio effort, was produced by Nathan Chapman. Dave Haywood spoke about what it's like to work with Chapman, saying: "There's an infectious energy, and it's almost like he's the fourth member of the band. There's this youthful excitement where he's got an idea, and we've got an idea."
