Nexus 6 Release Date: This Is Another Proof That New Motorola-Made Nexus Handset Will Be Biggest Google Smartphone Ever

The Nexus 6 release date is one of the most awaited announcements this year, though there were previous assumptions that Google will not release any Nexus devices anymore following the launch of Android Silver.

However, as a Google official pointed out, working on a new version of Android requires a new piece of hardware where it can run to be tested. And so rumors about upcoming Nexus devices begin to appear once more.

One of the more popular leaked devices today is the Nexus 6, or Nexus X or also Motorola Shamu. Allegedly developed by the former Google-owned company, the Android-powered device will boast some serious specs to take on the competition.

And now, we can take a look at the new Nexus 6, though we can only see just as much.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Motorola and Google-made handset has been spotted in the wild courtesy of Droid Life, and pictured together with the LG G3. While we only see the back of both devices, we can clearly make out the huge frame of the Nexus X.

At 5.5 inches, the LG G3's screen is in the phablet category already, and so we're pretty much amused at how Motorola decided to make the new Nexus device a lot bigger.

In recent leaks, the new device will boast a 5.9-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, and a 13MP primary camera. Of course, it will run on the latest version of Google's mobile OS, Android L.

With all of the previous smartphone releases already done for this month, the dust has settled. This paves the way for Google to make some noise once more in October as it prepares the launch of its Nexus 6 (Nexus X or Shamu) as well as the Nexus 8 (Nexus 9 due to 8.9-inch display) by HTC.
