Happy news! Chelsea Clinton and her husband Marc Mazvinsky welcomed a baby girl on Sept. 26.

The new mom announced the arrival of her first child on Twitter and Facebook, revealing that her daughter's name is Charlotte.

"Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky," Chelsea wrote on the social media sites.

Chelsea and her husband announced that they were expecting in April. The couple, who married in July 2010, recently revealed that they would be filling their child's nursery with elephants decorations. This is, in part, due to Chelsea's commitment to elephant conservation.  

"We're very baby-oriented right now, so we'll definitely be buying a felt elephant or two. I think those will look great in our nursery," Chelsea told the website Refinery29 about her plans for her little girl's room. "And, it's safe to say that as last year, this year too, a lot of our friends will be getting elephant-themed Christmas presents."

First time grandparents, former President Bill Clinton, and former Secretary of State and potential 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, have expressed their excitement for their daughter.  

"Now I've been thinking a lot about family because you know I'm on 'grandbaby watch' and I think a lot about this new member of our family and what he or she can look forward to," Hillary said at an event last week, according to CNN.

"And I am well aware that we will do everything possible to prepare this child, to protect this child. But I want that for everybody's child and everybody's grandchild. I want every one of our children to feel that they are inheriting the best of America, that they have the chance to do what I believed was possible for me and what my husband believed was possible for him and what we instilled in our daughter that really this country is on your side," Hillary added.

In August, Chelsea wished her dad Bill a happy Father's Day, posting a sweet pic of the two from when she was a  little girl.

"Happy Birthday to my Dad President Bill Clinton! Lking fwd to many more shared smiles in the yrs ahead!" wrote the former First Daughter.

There are sure to be many smiles ahead now that baby Charlotte has joined the family.
