NVIDIA Tegra K1 Release Date: Nexus 9 To Come W/ ‘World’s Fastest Processor For Mobile’? 9-Inch Android Tablet By HTC To Be Launched Maybe Launched W/ Nexus X

NVIDIA Tegra K1 release date: The “world’s fastest processor for mobile” as it was claimed to be may soon be coming in an upcoming Nexus 9 which will be made by HTC. Rumors suggest that the launch date for the new device will not only feature the new chipset but also coincide with the launch of the Nexus X (or Nexus 6) and the new Google mobile OS, Android L.

According to The Verge, earlier this month, a patent lawsuit was filed by NVIDIA against Qualcomm and Samsung noting that an “HTC Nexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014, is also expected to use the Tegra K1.” The note, which was picked up by the tech press, was quickly revised to exclude the Nexus 9 mention.

The statement warrants that a Nexus 9’s releae is imminent and that it will be powered by the NVIDIA Tegra K1. The chipmaker describes the K1 as the “universe’s most advanced mobile processor” and sports 192 supercomputer-class GPU cores. According to the Tegra microsite, the K1 clocks in at 2.3GHz. The Xiaomi MiPad is the first mobile device to sport the the chipset.

The launch schedule for the Nexus 9 may also coincide with the highly anticipated Nexus X, the sixth iteration of the Google branded smartphone. In a running update posted by Patrick O’Rourke of Canada.com, it notes that the expected specs of the Nexus X are a 5.92-inch display, Snapdragon 805 processor, and 3GB of RAM. By all means the upcoming handset has all the premium specs.

Both the upcoming Nexus 9 and Nexus X may feature the Android L, the newest mobile platform by the Mountain View tech giant that will feature a new design language called Material Design and in the Christian Post’s terms, offer a cleaner style which developers can make use when making apps.
