"NCIS" season 12, episode 2 spoilers hint of trouble for Director Vance as NFL star Tony Gonzalez makes his debut as an agent in "Kill the Messenger."

Although the details of why Director Vance is in trouble is kept under wraps, the Examiner's "NCIS" season 12, episode 2 spoilers reveal that the teaser shows just enough for fans to conclude that something is up in the air.

"Something's going on with Vance as the video teases that there is 'heartbreaking news,' the article said. "'I'm scared,' Vance admits to Gibbs, who tells him he has to stay positive."

The rest of the "NCIS" season 12, episode 2 teaser reveals Gibbs receiving the phone from Tony and telling the person on the other line that he's the President of the United States, while Abby apparently is giddy working with Sgt. Moore in her lab.

Meanwhile, Cartermatt said in its "NCIS" season 12, episode 2 spoilers that "Kill the Messenger" won't have no links to the "Twenty Klicks" episode, as next episode will have a new case for the team.

The synopsis for episode 2 reads: "When a Navy Lieutenant is killed on his way to a private meeting with the President, the NCIS team must determine if the murder was part of a recent stream of muggings in the area or a targeted hit to keep intel secret."

Cartermatt also claimed in its "NCIS" season 12 episode 2 spoilers that it will introduce NFL player Tony Gonzalez as an agent of the NCIS, although this could be another ploy for CBS to promote NFL, which is already rating very high.

"The frustrating thing about these cameos [is] that they are by and large just promotion for CBS' Thursday Night Football, which has already been going strong for a few weeks on the network. We'll just have to see how much screen time he ultimately has," it said.
