Upcoming Motorola Phones 2014: Nexus X Appears Yet Again In New Image, Is This 5.9" Phablet Worth It?

For the first time in Google's history, it has tapped Motorola to work on its new Nexus device. Surely, this upcoming Motorola phone for 2014 is the best spec'd smartphone from Google based on rumored features and specs.

And now, another image of the device has surfaced on the Internet. While we cannot make sure whether this would be the final look of the Nexus 6 (Nexus X) or Shamu, it certainly agrees with previous leaks.

According to previous rumors, the Nexus 6 would boast an enormous 5.9-inch screen, making it the biggest smartphone developed by Google for its Nexus lineup.

Interestingly, the Nexus 8 tablet has also been ramped up to 8.9 inches based on rumored specs. The device is reportedly developed by HTC and will feature high-end specs which would directly confront the competition.

Other rumored specs of the Nexus X include a Quad HD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution display, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 805 chipset from Qualcomm, and a 13MP primary camera.

As we can see from the image, the device will look like a bloated Motorola Moto X (2014) and that's not entirely a bad thing. We're just worried that the Moto X's design would not fit the smartphone's sheer size.

There are also front speakers in the device, similar to the BoomSound speakers of the HTC One M8.

For the past years, Google has been content in releasing semi-flagship devices which always offer compromises for interested buyers. However, this time around the primary selling point of new Nexus devices would not be the updated version of Android alone, but also its high-end and flagship-level specs.

In previous reports, Google will launch its new Nexus devices, together with Android L in an event in October.
