Gwen Stefani's New Album Is In The Works; New The Voice Judge To Perform New Single On The Show

Gwen Stefani's new album, her follow-up to 2006's "The Sweet Escape", has reportedly been in the works for some time now.

According to a report from Billboard magazine, Pharell was sought to help out in the making of Gwen Stefani's new album and they are already putting in the finishing touches.

In an interview in August, Stefani spoke about her new studio effort, albeit the singer did not give much away. "Right now, I'm all about doing music," she said. "I'm going into the studio tonight with Pharrell."

The pair last collaborated on the Stefani's 2004 hit "Hollaback Girl."

Meanwhile, a name and a definite date for the release of the new record has not been announced, but fans can expect it to come out in December.

Stefani's manager Irvin Azoff reportedly told Billboard that the singer, who is currently part of "The Voice," will perform her new single on the show.

Before sitting on the red chair on "The Voice," Stefani let music take a backseat, save for recording an album with her band No Doubt in 2006, and focused on her fashion line.

In a report from Belfast Telegraph, Stefani spoke about what it was like to have her fashion label showcased at New York Fashion Week again. "It reflects where I am right now," she said about her 90-piece collection. "Everything kind of aligned."

"It's an amazing time in my life," she continued. "I get to be doing it all."

Apart from Gwen Stefani's new album, the singer will reportedly dabble at designing fragrances again. "I'm doing new Harajuku Lovers fragrances that I've been working on forever," she said. "They also reflect where I am right now, which is totally surreal because I worked on them so long ago and it all coincides in a weird unplanned way. I love when that happens."
